Spirit Tours 2005 is pleased to announce the opening of their flagship
location at the Cavalier Hotel in south beach Miami.
Ever felt lost
in a sea of disconnected travelers unable to escape those mundane
roads and routines? Well, Spirit tours may have the answer.
Spirit Tours
is an exciting and new experimental service which combines the power
of high technologywith the familiar and comfortable interface of
theautomobile. Spirit Tours, our patrons experience an intimately
guided virtual out of body driving experiences that literally allows
them to see themselves from above. For centuries now the quest for
perspectival tourism has been relegated to intangibles from crystals
to snake oils to online relationships to religious cults. We have
long been promised the possibility of experiential enlightenment-and
the owners of Spirit Tours have made this a tangible and attainable
reality.
In addition
to offering a service that can change your roadside perspective
for years to come, Spirit Tours 2005 also produces and distributes
a wide array of memorabilia to help you preserve a unique experience.
>From healing refrigerator magnets to wind-chimes and t-shirts,
all of Spirit Tours' merchandise is handmade by the entrepreneurs,
ensuring each item is as unique and individual as you are. So come
aboard and enjoy the view, you might just make a new friend or two,
as you travel the mind-expanding road of spirit tours.
Spirit Tours
is a collaboration of David Hardy and Siebren Versteeg and was conceived
at The Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in summer 2004.
They will be taking reservations from their office/room/gift shop
at the Cavalier.
David Hardy
received a BFA from Brown University (Providence, RI) and a MFA
from Yale School of Art (New Haven, CT). Selected exhibitions include
PS1 (LIC, NY), The Sculpture Center (Queens, NY), and Southern Exposure
(San Francisco, CA). Hardy lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
Siebren Versteeg
received a BFA from the School of The Art Institute of Chicago (Chicago,
IL) and a MFA from University of Illinois (Chicago, IL). Selected
exhibitions include Rhona Hoffman Gallery (New York, NY), the Fabric
Workshop and Museum (Philadelphia, PA), and the Ulrich Museum of
Art (Wichita, KS). He is currently represented by Rhona Hoffman
Gallery (Chicago, IL). Versteeg lives and works in Brooklyn, New
York.

Beans, T-Shirts and Soaps), The Frisbee fair also introduced a series
of hand painted light up plastic relief signs. |
